Sky Sports reports that Terry Butcher will have to wait at least a month to hear his fate after being sent to the stand during the 3-2 defeat at Livingston on Saturday. Scottish Football Association head of disciplinary matters Drew Herbertson is still awaiting the match official’s report. He said: “We are aware of the reports from the game at Livingston, but we are waiting for the report regarding Mr Butcher’s dismissal. The matter will be handled in the standard manner thereafter. A copy of the report is issued to Mr Butcher and he will be invited to respond before the disciplinary committee. He is also given the chance to make a personal appearance and the next meeting of the disciplinary committee will be on September 10. There will be no decision until then.”

Ricky’s report of the Livingston game is now available.
Terry Butcher spoke to the press after Saturday’s defeat at Livingston: “I thought initially we were poor defensively, although Livingston finished clinically but we fought all the way and we’re still a very young side. This team will get even better as the season progresses and we need experienced players like Scott Leitch to lead by example. The partnership between James McFadden and Dirk Lehmann looks to be working well too. I’m disappointed for the fans and for myself in my first competitive game as Motherwell manager but we’ll continue to get stuck in as we did today.”
Scott Leitch added: “The new manager is great. He builds us up for the game throughout the week and lets you know exactly what he wants – lots of spirit – and I think everyone could see that on Saturday, despite the result We started badly early on, but the team played well after that and deserved credit. We’ll gain a lot of confidence especially after fighting back like we did. We showed plenty of passion for such a young side, but unfortunately didn’t taken anything out of the game.”
