28.02.87 Tickets for the cup tie against Dundee Utd will be on sale Monday and Tuesday until 8pm for Season Ticket holders. There are no concessions – all tickets are £12.00. Season Ticket voucher number 1 is required to obtain a ticket.
27.02.97 The cup tie against Dundee United at Tannadice will be all-ticket. Tickets will be available in the first instance to Season Ticket holders, but no date has been announced as to when they will go on sale. More news as soon as I get it…
26.02.97 Billy Davies is fit again for tonight’s Cup replay at Broadwood and John Philliben is back after suspension, but Alex Burns and Shaun McSkimming are again doubtful and Willie Falconer is still suspended.
20.02.97 Shaun McSkimming and Alex Burns both picked up knocks in the Raith game and are doubtful for Saturday’s home match against Celtic, while Willie Falconer will miss the game through suspension.
Andy Roddie has signed for Swedish side Lungskile after a week’s trial.
18.02.97 The cup replay against Hamilton Accies will go ahead at Broadwood next Wednesday night, kick-off 7.30pm. The game will NOT be all ticket.
Tonight’s match against Raith Rovers at Stark’s Park is definitely ON.
John Philliben is back from suspension for tonight’s game against Raith, and Simo Valakari is also available again after missing Saturday’s cup tie with Hamilton.
17.02.97 The replay of the Accies cup tie will take place on Wednesday 26 February, although the venue has yet to be confirmed. Possibilities include Broadwood and Firhill. An announcement is expected later today.
The winners of the Lanarkshire derby will face either Dundee United or Hearts away from home in the Quarter-Finals of the cup on Saturday 8 March.
13.02.97 The rearranged date for the Raith game has been confirmed as next Tuesday (18th February).
Latest signing Simo Valikari is ineligible for Saturday’s cup tie against Hamilton Accies, and John Philliben will also miss out following his red card against Aberdeen at the weekend. The match is NOT all-ticket, but fans going to the family section will have to buy a ticket for that section at the ticket office before going to the turnstile.
12.02.97 MATCH OFF !!!
Tonight’s game against Raith Rovers has been postponed as the Stark’s Park pitch is waterlogged. The game could now go ahead next Tuesday.
Shaun McSkimming and Alex Burns are doubtful for tonight’s match against Raith Rovers, and Stephen McMillan is ready to return to the side. A pitch inspection at Stark’s Park is planned for 2pm.
10.02.97 Andy Roddie’s move to Oldham appears to have fallen through and St. Mirren are now rumoured to be interested in him.
07.02.97 Motherwell have signed Finnish internationalist Simo Valikari. The 23 year old former Finnpa midfielder made his debut for Finland last season and could find himself in the starting line-up for tomorrow’s match with Aberdeen.
06.02.97 Motherwell’s game against Raith Rovers next midweek has been moved back to the Wednesday following Scott Howie’s inclusion in the Scotland squad for the game versus Estonia on the Tuesday.
Mitchell Van der Gaag is suspended for Saturday’s game against Aberdeen, and this could mean that Chris McCart will return to the side. Shaun McSkimming should also return after missing the Dunfermline match with a calf injury, but Tommy Coyne is suffering from ‘flu and is rated as doubtful.
Tickets for the home match against Celtic on February 22 go on sale at Fir Park on Wednesday for Motherwell supporters only.
04.02.97 Motherwell goalkeeper Scott Howie has been named in the Scotland squad for next week’s World Cup match against Estonia.
02.02.97 It appears as though Paul Kane’s move to Motherwell could be back ON if he can win a free transfer from Norwegian club Viking Stavanger. The player has been training at Fir Park but Alex McLeish will only do the deal if there is no fee.
The club are offering a special deal for children at the forthcoming Lanarkshire derby against Hamilton Accies in the Scottish Cup. Kids will be admitted for just two pounds if accompanied by an adult.
