27.01.96 Motherwell will play Hamilton Accies at Fir Park in the 4th round of the Scottish Cup on Saturday 15 February.
A report in one of Saturday’s papers claims that German side Berlin are interested in Motherwell’s Dutch defender Mitchell Van der Gaag.
It looks as though Chris McCart is on his way out. Apparently he has no place in our new 2 man central defence and it is rumoured he is interested in a move.
23.01.96 According to this morning’s Sun, out-of-contract winger Andy Roddie has been given a free transfer by the club. Favourites to sign him are Oldham, where Roddie was on trial earlier in the season, with Wigan and Stockport also interested.
If a replay is required following Saturday’s cup-tie at Partick, it will take place at Fir Park on Tuesday night (28 January).
17.01.96 Tomorrow’s match against Rangers looks like being a sell-out. Only a few hundred East Stand tickets remain for Motherwell fans, and these are expected to be snapped up this afternoon and tomorrow morning.
A story in this morning’s Daily Record claims that there is an African doctor with more money than sense who is looking to buy a Scottish football club – possibly Motherwell?

13.01.96 Innes Ritchie has been sold to First Division side East Fife.
09.01.96 Tickets are now on sale at Fir Park for Motherwell’s home match against Rangers on Saturday 18 January.
08.01.97 Motherwell have signed striker Owen Coyle from Dundee United in a player-plus-cash deal that sees midfielder Jamie Dolan moving to Tannadice. Motherwell will also receive an additional 75,000 pounds in a deal worth around 350,000 pounds. Coyle cost Dundee United 400,000 pounds when he signed from Bolton 14 months ago and had recently been out of favour at Tannadice. Alex McLeish admitted that he had been tracking Coyle for two years, but Motherwell’s slump to second bottom in the league meant he couldn’t wait any longer. Coyle is expected to play along side fellow Republic of Ireland internationalist Tommy Coyne against Hibs on Saturday.
06.01.97 Motherwell’s match against Kilmarnock on New Year’s Day was postponed and has been re-arranged for Tuesday 21st January with a 7.45pm kick-off.
The draw for the 3rd round of the Scottish Cup was made at the weekend and Motherwell will play Partick Thistle at Firhill on Saturday 25th January.
