11.15pm Today’s ever reliable Scottish Sun reports that the Motherwell players have been told to be on their guard for tomorrow’s friendly with Cardiff City, as it is believed that Leeds hooligans could hijack the match in an attempt to resume their feud with with the Welsh club’s fans. One player is quoted as saying: Local police have been liasing with their Welsh and Yorkshire colleagues in a bid to stop any trouble, and a club “insider” is quoted as saying: Andy Goram has signed a one-year deal with First Division newcomers Queen of the South on a part-time contract, which will allow him to keep his coaching post at Fir Park.
